Sunshine Award

Gosh...I feel SO undeserving but it made my day that a fellow teacher "The Wife" from The Cobia Family gave me an award! I read the link twice to make sure it was really me because I just have been such a bad blogger lately. It was such a nice surprise and sweet gesture from a blog that I love! If you haven't checked out her blog you can do so here, she makes the cutest aprons and dresses and has an etsy shop! Check her out!

7 things about myself:

1. I am married to my college sweetheart
2. I am a 3rd grade teacher to wonderful kiddos
3. I am a high school cheerleading coach and love my girls
4. I am a HUGE sports fan! I L.O.V.E. UK....season came to an abrupt end tonight....tear.
5. I am very short.... 4'11 1/2 (yes I put the 1/2)
6. I LOVE 80's music!
7. I am a very picky eater and could live on bread, chicken, turkey, and grilled cheese. Sad I know...it looks even worse when I read it.

I would like to pass this award along to these deserving ladies who I admire.

Ashley for being pregnant and being away from her family.

Melissa for being so open and honest about IVF and being a momma.
Holli for journaling about her IVF and keeping a postitive attitude eventhough it didn't go as she wished.
Amanda seems so with-it and is another working momma.
Jennifer for being such a wonderful blogger and SAHM.
Erin for being so organized!
Rebekah for being such a postive person and Godly woman.

Congratulations ladies and thanks for inspiring me everyday...pass it on!

Back in Action

I am sure everyone has given up on me, I would have. But yall just wait, I am coming back! I hate to post without a picture and our laptop is not recognizing our camera right now...grrr. So I am having to take my camera to school and download my pics to a jumpdrive and bring them back home and load them. I have 1560 pictures right now, so it is a little time consuming! Right now I am on our most recent pics and Nolan has grown so much that I don't want to get them out of order. So as soon as I have some older pictures I will get them on here and get the ball rolling again. I already have my posts ready to go with our most recent pictures.

Our little man has grown so much, it makes me sad looking back on some of his newborn pictures. Time is just going to quickly.

Hopefully, I will get my pictures done this weekend and get back in the groove. I always think of stuff to blog about and have so many pictures to share and I have been inspired by so many blogs to get back at it. So bear with me, I am on my way.

Nolan's First Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was truley the most special and memorable Thanksgiving I can remember. I couldn't help but reflect back on my life and 2009 and realize how blessed I am. I am now a mother, I have a great husband, the best family, a few good friends, have a job that I enjoy, a squad of little sisters, and more blessings than I truly deserve. Needless to say, it was a little emotional for me. On top of the rushing to get everywhere, this was our first real holiday with Nolan and it was a little stressful trying to get everywhere and make sure everyone saw Nolan. It was definetly different but a kind of different that I can see myself getting use too!

M.I.A

"Missing in action" isn't even a term that does my absence justice.

I guess you could say I took a little unexpected and unplanned hiatus.

I started slacking when I was getting ready to go back to work. I was not prepared for the guilt I would feel having to leave Nolan. I felt even worse being somewhat okay with getting back to work and into a routine. And when the guilt started, I pushed everything (and I mean everything--cooking, cleaning, shopping, leaving the house, personal hygiene) aside to soak up every precious moment, giggle, smile, and look of my sweet Nolan. So as you can guess blogging got pushed aside too. When I actually got back to work after Thanksgiving I thought I would get back into it, but I didn't. Before I knew it, I was planning and getting ready for Christmas. Time was moving so quickly! And the more I was away from it the more I was okay with being away from it. But something lately has changed, I want to make sure I try to preserve and account for all the sweetness of my lil man. Time is flying by and he growing so quickly. I just don't want to lose time with him to do it.

So from now on I am going to try to be a better blogger. By better, I mean blog more frequently. But the blogs may just be a quick post, a picture, or once a week recap. I guess something is better than nothing.

And by the way, Nolan is a chunker now! :)
